What is the issue? When two vessels come alongside in an anchorage they tend to role at slightly different frequencies and push aside their fenders. This makes it challenging to protect the vessels from each other.
Why address this?Coming together can be fun or a great way to move crew, equipment or provisions quickly.
How to address this?Layout the fenders as presented in figure 1. This layout protects the vessels from most all roll directions and the fenders should stay in place.
Make certain to offset the masts should a roll cause them to strike each other. The safest approach is most likely to go bow to stern.
